Backpacks & Bruises, Sam & Sue - Best Friends

HELLO

Welcome to the Backpacks And Bruises site, somewhere we hope you will find inspiration for adventure in the great outdoors.

We are Sue and Sam, two lifelong best friends originally from Sheffield, who spend our time in the beautiful Peak District National Park.  We began vlogging our hikes and adventures on YouTube 5 years ago and believe passionately about sharing and encouraging others to spend time in the outdoors.

Backpacks And Bruises actively champions the huge benefits and effect that time in these great landscapes has on us all physically and mentally.

Hiking, wild swimming, camp cooking, wild camping, group walk organisers...sounding like the perfect Instagram life? Then we'll also mention we are mothers and full time office workers, so we fit in what we can, lets keep it real, we are from Yorkshire after all.

Outdoor activities play a vital role in our mental health and well being and here you will find guides, inspiration and general musings to help utilise the precious time we have in our own pockets of green and open space.
